Biography
For 30+ years a building scientist at Victoria University of Wellington School of Architecture. Principal research interest is in performance modelling (since 1992) for healthy, sustainable workplaces.
Involvement in building performance simulation began in 1985 during work associated with the IEA Solar Building research at the EMPA in Zuerich and at SERI (now NREL) in Colorado. This early modelling work led to a Ministry of Energy publication on solar design of houses, and more recently to publication of two editions of “Designing Comfortable Homes” – a publication which significantly influenced the most recent insulation standards for residences in New Zealand.
