What is the relationship between of regularity of daily load profile and responsiveness to time of use tariff?
Impact: This research would provide new value to existing datasets and develop methods that are of interest to industry.
Analysis of power, compared to energy demand, requires refocusing attention on the shape of power demand. An area of critical interest to distribution network operators and those looking to enable demand side response on the grid are the extent to which customers can respond to time of use tariffs. The intention would be to correlate the Time of Use tariff response recorded in the EDRP data against the regularity of power consumption patterns as identified through these methods. The analysis of those more or less likely to respond to time of use tariffs based solely on analysis of their half hourly meter data would be of use to distribution network operators in targeting, and estimating, the scope for demand-side response on the distribution network. This research would provide new value to existing datasets and develop methods that are of interest to industry.
