CEE researchers to lead Brazil energy epidemiology workshop
24th November 2017 Maija Powell

Building on the work of the RCUK Centre for Energy Epidemiology, the workshop is funded by the British Council via the Newton Fund. UCL’s Professor Paul Ruysseveltand Dr Ian Hamilton will lead the workshop in partnership with University Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC).

Industry and academic participants from the UK, Brazil and other Latin American countries will participate in the workshop. The focus will particularly be on the application of energy efficiency policy development in emerging countries.

The event links to the work of the International Energy Agency EBC Annex 70 project ‘Building Energy Epidemiology‘, which aims to build international cooperation in using energy epidemiology research techniques to address emissions reduction targets.

As well as Brazil, representatives will be invited from Chile, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Argentina, Costa Rica and Uruguay. UK participants will include academics active in the field and government, NGO and industry colleagues.
